ASABE International Quarter-Scale Tractor Student Design Competition
Complete competition handbook and rulebook can be found here
The 2015 Competition took place May 28th-31st in Peoria, IL with 29 teams entering this year. We, Penn State Pullers, showed up confident in the tractor that we had built. After many months of work several failures and frequent redesigns we had built a tractor that we thought could compete with every other tractor there in all events. Do to our attention to space conscious engineering our tractor, driven by Team Captain Sam Descutner, not only won the maneuverability event but it was the only tractor to make it through the course perfectly without knocking down a single obstacle! We placed 7th overall in the tractor pulls and 14th in the durability. In the written report we were judged to have the 12th best design and marketing plan and Sam and Co-Captain Dalton Wilson took home 7th place in the presentation. In the end our showing was good enough to get us 4th place overall! We could not have achieved this without the support of our advisor Randall Bock and the generosity of our Sponsors! Thank you!
